Very friendly. I called ahead to ensure that they had shoes in a size 17 for my son for prom. The gentleman that answered was very helpful. When I got to the store he was very welcoming and told the lady exactly what I was looking for and suggested what shoe brand I needed. The Lady was also very friendly. I even bought a pair of shoes for myself. I was raised wearing shoes from Stout's shoes and so was my mother. Glad I thought to call. I don't remember any names.

What an amazing store, I walked in because of the parrot outside the front door and found a lovely shop with history, great shoes and a sales team that was incredibly nice and who didn't mind all of my questions on the history of the store. I walked out with a pair of shoes that I did not need but that I wanted! Thank you Stout's and I hope you are around for another 140 years!!

If this 5 star review, and the many others you see here, are not enough to convince you this place is awesome - nothing will! We started at the Brownsburg location looking for dress shoes for my son going to prom. He found a shoe he liked but they didn't have his size (12) so they said they would check the downtown location. They did have it downtown so off we went. We were nicely greeted and were told someone would be right with us. We indicated a call from Brownsburg was made and they immediately knew what we were there for. Unfortunately, the shoe was not a good fit for him (narrow feet). For the next hour, the store manager - Stephanie - made herself my son's personal shoe specialist. She was amazing. She was insightful and extremely knowledgeable. She gave suggestions. Most of all, she was patient. My son is quiet and can do the typical teenage - "uh, I don't know" answer to any question and she managed him beautifully! ❤️ I can't thank this place enough! If you need shoes for business, prom, running, hiking, casual, or anything - this should be your first stop!

Oldest shoe store in the US. They have some old school pulley system from the depression era that’s the only one left and functional in the country. Great experience and great service, Tyrone was our salesperson.

Best shoe buying experience, hands down. Aaron took the time to fit me with the proper size and make sure I was getting exactly the shoe I needed. He was very professional and cool. Go in and ask for him. Stouts will be my go to store from now on.

The staff at this store are outstanding, I was blown away by the level of customer service. Haela helped me find a perfect pair of Brooks shoes quickly and efficiently. I was short on time and her attention to detail was impressive.
